Jean Prouvé, born in Paris in 1901, was a master metalworker. In 1924 he opened his own workshop in Nancy and in 1925 he began producing his first furniture in shaped sheet steel. In 1950, Jean Prouvé designed the EM Table for the “Maison Tropicale” project. The table design is based on the aesthetics of functionality. The inclined legs and the tie rod/strut highlight the structural forces and static ratios typical of engineering constructions. The fascination of Prouvé’s design led us to reinterpret his original concept in 2013, giving life to one of our most extensive and versatile table collections.
