The patented extendo system consists of two extendable aluminium profiles that can be adapted to environments of various heights. Using the foldaway lever, the profiles can be blocked at the desired height and compressed between floor and ceiling, without having to use any kind of pre-fixing tool.

An innovative internationally patented system inspired by a great design of the past.

In 1956/57 Franco Albini designed the Infinito bookcase, a modular bookcase composed of uprights, hinged doors, flap doors, and shelves. The uprights, pressure-fixed between floor and ceiling, are adjustable in height from 268 to 290 cm; thanks to a series of holes, containers and shelves can be positioned at various heights. EXTENDO reinterprets this project in 2003, focusing on the possibility of reusing the bookcase SYSTEM in space and time. EXTENDO patents a mechanism with expansion from 210 to 340 cm, whose installation is done barehanded. Telescoping adopts a self-locking SYSTEM with dynamic thrust between floor and ceiling. EXTENDO reinterprets Franco Albini’s project in its entirety: from the free placement of elements to the use of innovative materials for the realization of shelves, with increasingly greater resistance to bending and loads.

A flexible system designed to adapt.

The extruded aluminum profiles are configurable to adapt to different environmental needs. Indeed, configurations are possible for floor-to-ceiling, floor-to-wall, double-sided, and sloped ceiling installations.

Thin but indeformable.

The modular shelves with a very thin thickness of 6/10 mm are made of HPL or tempered glass. In both solutions, they are coupled with steel profiles to increase their load resistance and indeformability.

Essential and refined volumes.

The containers, available in essence and lacquered, can be configured with fronts in HPL or tempered glass only 4mm thick. The simplification of geometries makes the volume compact and refined.

Light and resistant shelves.

The shelves in 3cm thick laminated plywood represent an excellent solution to obtain a lightweight shelf resistant to loads, reducible in length and depth.

Extreme flexibility even in dimensions.

Flexibility in width is ensured by the wide range of available modules: 36/72/108/144 cm. The three types of shelves, in plywood, glass, and HPL, allow reduction to the centimeter, while their positioning along the vertical profile is possible continuously to the millimeter.

Flexibility for every architecture.

The patented product SYSTEM adapts to all architectural spaces, installable with plasterboard ceiling, sloped ceiling, wall-mounted, and free installation.
